Romainan WASR 10 with, as I was advised and appears to be, a factory under-folder. A lot more comfortable to shoot than the side-folder. Folded it fits nicely in my ATV gear trunk. The fore-stock is the basic synthetic. I texture it by stippling with a wood burner for better grip. They are a bit slippery when wet.
It is the first Romy of 3 I have had, that had the mag well conversion and G2 trigger installation done right. I put XS/24 big dot sight on it and a Galil style grip. Shoots and shoots and shoots. _________________ "The shallow-minded modern who has lost his rootage in the land assumes that he has already discovered what is important." Aldo Leopold

| I like that dog RD. I use to have a German Shepard, Shepard, Husky cross. One of the best loved dogs I have ever known. |

He definitely has a little retreiver in him too. He is 120 lbs winter weight, and nearly 9 yrs old, can still climb, jump, and swim like a youngster. _________________ "The shallow-minded modern who has lost his rootage in the land assumes that he has already discovered what is important." They are great guns for the money- they're like Glocks, they just work. Wrap that left side leg of the stock with paracord and it won't be so cold on your face. _________________ Kill your TV! |

That's a good idea Baja. It should still clear the mag and grip when folded with the para-cord on it. _________________ "The shallow-minded modern who has lost his rootage in the land assumes that he has already discovered what is important." Aldo Leopold |

If it's a little tight you can always pull the inner strings out.
I wish I could take credit for it but I saw it on the net. It was one of those- Doh! That's so simple I can't believe I didn't think of that moments. It does make it a bit more comfortable though given how cold those metal stocks feel on your face. _________________ Kill your TV! |

It is difficult to get a cheek weld on a 1/4 in steel rod regardless. I did the para-cord wrap on the forend/barrels of my Springfield M-6 which made a world of difference in getting a good forward hold.
Another "Doh" moment yesterday. I put 60 rnds through the AK. The first 10 rounds kept drifting right, 1 inch at a time. I kept scratching my head..................... then noticed my front sight was loose and was slowly walking left. Loctite, you moron. Got that fixed...... _________________ "The shallow-minded modern who has lost his rootage in the land assumes that he has already discovered what is important." Aldo Leopold |

| Nice shelter river dog.....Also nice to know I'm not the only one building shelters in the woods still. I learned my survival skills from Tom Brown's books. His favorite shelter was the debris hut which is modeled basically on a squirrels nest. Practice makes perfect, I know some pepole who think that reading a book is good enough, but it is one thing to have the knowledge and another to actually aquire the skills. |

What is this, a place for posts that are lost and can't find their way home?
Either that, or the thread drift is gettin' out of hand.
Or is somebody plannin' to weld some steel to a poor little doggy?
I am confused. |

I've built those Grendel. Works well when the debris is plentiful and not frozen to the ground, particularly in the late fall. They are warmer.
One of my goals with the wedge or lean-to was to see how long it would last. I finished both sides with spruce bows. Everytime I check on it I find that the deer have pulled some of the shingle off the frame. They may be trying to feed on the tips of the spruce branches. The sit is surrounded by deer tracks and beds. Apparently my judgement concerning and ideal location was sound. _________________ "The shallow-minded modern who has lost his rootage in the land assumes that he has already discovered what is important."
