Hmm. May I be a fly in the ointment? If I am not mistaken, Texas has a very strict knife law for carrying in public. Something tells me that a blade longer than 3" will get you in trouble.

In that situation I would stick with a small lock back such as a Spyderco for EDC.

#lol Man O Man if that were the case there wouldn't be enough cops in the state to handle all the guys and gals carrying fixed blade knives at a biker rally.

I carry a Becker Necker daily in my right front pants pocket. For such a small blade it's TOUGH! I carry a Vic SAK Trailmaster (renamed Trekker now) in my front left pants pocket. With these two I can do most anything I need a cutting implement to do if put to the task. Would I prefer a bigger blade for some chores? Sure! But I can't carry a BK-7 or BK-9 or a Brute daily! #wink So The Necker is a good option!! #smile I agree with carrying a small fixed blade daily.

I can attest with some experience, that cops (those not riding), would rather not deal with anyone or part of a biker rally, period.
Any personal weapons smaller than a RPG tend to be.....overlooked............... #look

In the 80's I spent a lot of time at poker runs and rallies, riding a customized HD Super Glide. One of the last AMF (read...junk) high compression engined bikes that ran like Reckless' stripe assed ape, for a short period of time.

I had a friend who was a saddle maker tool me a leather tank cover that had an eagle carved in it, wings spread and wrapping up around the gauges, with a nearly naked well proportioned
blonde dangling from it's talons. It really was a work of art, and subsequently attracted a lot of attention.

The armament I observed tucked beneath the leather of dozens of bikers as they leaned over the bike to admire it's badge was
staggering. I recall one rather large human carrying a pair of 6 inch S@W 29s in a double shoulder rig. Another had a nickel 1911, balanced by a machete on the opposite side of a shoulder holster. But the most interesting was a Mac 11 attached to a sling under a leather jacket.... #rolleyes

Yes. a biker rally is an interesting display of American firepower...

The real 1%'s tend to be scarce at most gatherings unless it is a gang organized event, then nobody in their right mind should be there. The bigger the event the easier it is to find a safe corner to stay in.

Here's an interesting tid-bit about Georgia law.
My Ga. Firearms License lets me carry just about any gun I want, in any way (concealed or openly) I want.
But a tiny pocket knife is not covered by that license, and people have been arrested for carrying one
(concealed in their pocket) while the 1911 on their hip was no problem #confused
and there is no license available for carrying a concealed knife.

ooohhhh....i like that benchmade nimravus.gonna have to keep an eye open for it.

as far as edc, i carry a folder pretty well all the time. feel nekkid without one. my usual is a crkt m16.

like others , if i am in the bush or camping etc i carry a solid blade like a ratt 7.

fixed blades attract attention here as well. folders can legally be clipped inside a pocket and be fine.i have never been hassled by johny law.
